Keen to remain atop the Serie A standings, league leaders Napoli are reportedly plotting a move for West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang.
The Hammers acquired the 23-year-old from Sampdoria last summer for a fee close to €6 million, and given he is being used regularly in recent weeks, a substantial offer would be needed to land him.
With Jonathan De Guzman nearing a return to Swansea, the club he spent two seasons on loan at from Villarreal, Obiang is seen as a timely and perfect addition to the Azzurri midfield.
Obiang has made 14 appearances for the English club, starting in six of those fixtures, and agent Jose Miguel Gonzalez has revealed the Spaniard is happy to remain at West Ham, although they are willing to discuss his future with any club that may be interested.
An alternative could be Andre Gomes of Valencia, though the Spanish side appear intent in keeping hold of him after several starts in recent weeks.
