In their attempts to bring Alvaro Morata to Merseyside, Liverpool are willing to pay big bucks for the Spaniard, though Juventus are reluctant to sell.

While mainly deployed from the bench in Serie A, it is clear that the Bianconeri have outlined Morata as a key asset in their challenge for the Champions League, where the 23-year-old appeared in every group game and contributed important goals in victories over Manchester City and Sevilla.

Therefore, holding the attacker in such high regard means that a mammoth offer of €60 million from the Reds will be rebuffed by Juve who show no willingness to cash in on one of their brightest talents.

Even the prospect of bringing Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani back to Italy as a replacement for Morata, who has 16 goals in 65 appearances for the Bianconeri, is not enough for Massimiliano Allegri’s side to be convinced to sell.

The Uruguayan has hit 10 goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances from the French champions and has been linked with moves back to the league he left in 2013 after spells with Palermo and Napoli although offers a steep price with a value of €45m.
